Rosa – The Generous Gardener – and the NGS

This beautiful rose Rosa The Generous Gardener was named on the 75th anniversary of The National Garden Scheme

Rosa The Generous Gardener appears in many places in my garden; against the house walls, climbing up obelisks and over arches. It’s extremely healthy, really easy to train, floriferous, with proper repeat flowering and delicious scent.

This beautiful rose was named on the 75th anniversary of The National Garden Scheme, a charity that gives visitors unique access to over 3,700 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales, raising impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cakes. In ordinary circumstances we would be opening our garden this weekend under the scheme, but we took the decision to delay until September this year, when we will hopefully be able to have larger numbers.

But don’t despair! There are lots of other gardens that have now reopened under the scheme for limited numbers and by ticketed entry so follow this link to find one near you https://ngs.org.uk. All the gardens have something to show us – one rose or one new feature to take home and add to our gardens with a lovely day out thinking only about nature! What could be better!
